Nicholas Walters talks Vasyl Lomachenko

Nicholas Walters wants a fight with Vasyl Lomachenko next, but can the fight be made after Walters failed to make 126lbs?

The Jamaican Axe Man was able to secure a win this weekend, but lost his title on the scales as he was unable to make 126lbs at the weigh-in. Despite losing his title, Walters says that he's still looking towards a fight with Vasyl Lomachenko next. When FightHype caught up with Walters to ask for his thoughts on his recent win over Miguel Marriaga, Walters inexplicably responds in Spanish for about 10 seconds before reverting back into the English language. Maybe the fight was a little tougher on Walters than we thought...

Walters was then asked how he would fight someone of Lomachenko's caliber and Walters replied (in true 'Axe Man' fashion) by saying that he would chop him down with a ferocious body attack. He also says he doesn't know when the fight will happen, but that he's just waiting on Top Rank.

Though fans have been intrigued by a potential bout between Walters and Lomachenko as of late, Walters inability to make the featherweight limit means it's probably fair to question whether or not this fight will be taking place at all.
