Mayweather begins training camp for Sept. 12th

New, comments

Training camp is officially underway for Floyd Mayweather Jr., despite still not having announced who his opponent will be.

Floyd Mayweather took to Instagram to announce that he's begun his training camp for his scheduled September 12th fight -- and also to shamelessly plug his Shots app (do people even really use that?). What we still don't know is who Floyd will be fighting. With his fight now about 9 weeks away it would appear that he would have to make this announcement pretty soon, but we all know by now that Floyd works on his own timetable.

Mayweather has been steadfast in naming Andre Berto and Karim Mayfield as his potential opponents, but many have a hard time taking that seriously - and rightfully so because neither man is deserving. I still think Amir Khan gets the fight and that Floyd just likes messing with Khan, but if his fight really does go to network television, as is being rumored, there just might not be enough money to pay both men what they'd want. We should know what the plan is soon though, because he can't drag this on much longer. Or can he?
