Floyd Mayweather Jr. scores the hat trick by being selected as the male Fighter of the Year by the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame for the third consecutive time. The NVBHOF is recognizing Mayweather for his wins over Manny Pacquiao in May and Marcos Maidana last year. He will officially receive his award at the annual Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame induction gala on Saturday, August 8, which will be held at Caesars Palace. And not only will Floyd be receiving an award, he will also get to watch his uncle and longtime trainer, Roger Mayweather, get inducted into the Nevada Boxing HOF.

"I appreciate the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame for selecting me as fighter of the year once again," Mayweather said. "My uncle Roger is also being inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame. He was a great fighter and is a fantastic trainer who doesn't always receive the credit he deserves. It's nice for him to be recognized by the NVBHOF for his role in boxing for so many years."

The gala is expected to have the likes of Marvin Hagler, Lennox Lewis, Felix Trinidad, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, and Marco Antonio Barrera in attendance, amongst others.
