Amir Khan says he's looking towards a big 2016 where he hopes to take on Manny Pacquiao and Kell Brook.

With Amir Khan looking like he will, again, lose out on the Mayweather sweepstakes, he's turning his attention towards 2016 where he is hoping to put together a very big year. Unfortunately that doesn't mean much for the second-half of the year we still have in front of us, but if we've learned anything about Amir it's that he doesn't mind waiting around.

"Since Floyd is running scared, I want Pacquiao in 2016 when he is back from his injury, said Khan.

Khan has confirmed that Bob Arum has reached out to him about a potential Pacquiao fight in Dubai next spring, and is interested in seeing where the talks go.

"There have been talks of an Amir Khan fight in Dubai for many years now," Khan told The National. "Everyone knows my position: I am ready to fight if they are serious about it. Bob Arum has contacted my team to fight Manny Pacquiao around March or April in Dubai. Let's see how that develops."

"2016 will be Amir Khan's year and you will see me in two of the biggest fights in that year," he added in reference to a follow-up fight with IBF champion Brook.

Now, in all honesty, I don't actually expect Khan to sit out until next spring, but rest assured that if he does take a interim fight before then it will likely be against a ho-hum opponent. Khan has already proven an aversion to risking his meal ticket to a big fight, so it only stands to reason.
