According to TMZ and ESPN's Dan Rafael, Don King failed to get a federal court's injunction to block this weekend's Mosley-Mayorga rematch. I know this has to come as a great, great relief to many of you fans out there.
Don King failed to impress the judge, who did not enjoin the Mosley-Mayorga fight. Mayorga is allowed to fight Saturday so fight is on.

Although King claims to still have a valid contact with Mayorga, a federal judge ruled that allowing Maygora to fight this weekend would not cause damage to his future career because, well, he doesn't have much of a future in professional boxing. The judge stated:
"The undisputed evidence is that Mayorga is not ranked, that he is not at the peak of his physical capabilities and that whether he will participate in any future bouts is purely speculative."
So King can still try to go ahead and attempt prove the validity of his supposed contract with Mayorga, but in the meantime the fight will go on - even if it doesn't appear to be selling so well. Shane Mosley said during testimony that there's only be 2,000-3,000 tickets sold to the event thus far - so here's your consolation prize for those who couldn't snag Cotto-Canelo tickets.
