Today at 6 pm EST, Floyd Mayweather and Andre Berto will take the stage in Los Angeles to officially announce their September 12 fight in Las Vegas on Showtime pay-per-view.
Mayweather (48-0, 26 KO) is coming off of a big win over Manny Pacquiao in May, which decimated all records for money generated. For his 49th fight, which has been said to be his last though few believe it, he'll take on former two-time titleholder Berto (30-3, 23 KO). The 31-year-old Berto has won two straight fights since returning from shoulder surgery. He's 3-3 in his last six, dating back to 2011.
The undercard already has two really solid fights, as Rocky Martinez will defend his 130-pound belt against Orlando Salido in a rematch, and Badou Jack will defend the WBC super middleweight title against George Groves.
With a win, Mayweather will match Rocky Marciano's record of 49-0. Most expect that he will fight again in 2016 to go for a 50th victory.
