Someone up there really enjoys torquing Irish boxing fans, apparently.
Promoter Frank Warren announced today that Billy Joe Saunders has suffered a cut in training, pushing the WBO title fight between him and champion Andy Lee back to November.
Unfortunately Billy Joe Saunders has received a bad cut in sparring and will not be ready for Oct10 for his World title fight with Andy Lee

This is the second time the fight has been delayed, as the September 19th date in Limerick had to be scrapped due to Lee catching a virus.
Despite the loss, Warren is soldiering on.
The Oct10 show will still go ahead with the two world title fights and we are working hard to replace the fight with another major fight

Said title fights are Liam Smith vs. Josh Thompson for the vacant WBO super welterweight belt and Terry Flanagan defending his WBO lightweight belt against Diego Magdaleno. It'll be interesting to see whether Warren can whip up another blockbuster matchup in just over a month.
I don't think it's technically "cursed" until the third delay, but this is still disappointing. Why must these athletes have to punch each other in the head to prepare for punching each other in the head?
