Heavyweight Champ Wladimir Klitschko has pulled out of the Tyson Fury fight for the time being, citing a minor leg injury during training. Klitschko released this official statement to Sky Sports.
"I was looking forward to this fight very much," said Klitschko in an official statement distributed by Sky Sports News in the UK.
"I know that a lot of fans have paid to come and support me in Dusseldorf. I am so sorry that I am unable to fight on Oct. 24 and I also apologize to my opponent who has spent many weeks preparing. I will do my very best to recover as quickly as possible."
Wladimir also took to instagram to post a video message directly to fans.
Though this will come as a big disappointment to many who were eager to see the match-up, it's being reported that a rescheduled date will be announced next week. Tyson Fury, though, doesn't seem to be taking the news so hard and appears satisfied that he can at least indulge himself for a bit.
