25-year-old Nick Blackwell (19-3-1, 8 KOs) is all set to defend his Lonsdale belt against Chris Eubank Jr. (21-1, 16 KOs) on March 5th. The fight has just now been announced as official.

"Pleased to announce the fight with Chris Eubank Jr is happening and will take place March 5th at Glow, Bluewater. (I'll be) defending my British title," said Blackwell.

"I'm going to be 110% for this fight and trust me, I'll be walking away with that British for keeps," he added.

Eubank Jr. has opted for this fight to fulfill his dream of winning the British title, forgoing an immediate title shot against either Daniel Jacobs or Gennady Golovkin. Eubank Jr. hopes to win this domestic title before moving on to the world stage.

Blackwell, currently rated at No. 21 by BoxRec, is now looking at his toughest opponent on paper since being stopped by Martin Murray in 2011 and losing a unanimous decision to Billy Joe Saunders the year after.
