Tonight at 8:00 pm EST, Premier Boxing Champions makes its debut on FOX, with a tripleheader from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, headlined by a fight for the vacant WBC welterweight title, most recently held by Floyd Mayweather.
In the main event, former 140-pound world champion Danny Garcia (31-0, 18 KO) will face former featherweight and super featherweight titleholder and former welterweight title challenger Robert Guerrero (33-3-1, 18 KO) for the WBC 147-pound belt. in 2015, Guerrero had a bit of a tough go of it, losing a wide decision to Keith Thurman in March, followed by a narrow win over Aron Martinez in June. He's hoping that a layoff and renewed focus will bring him back to where he wants to be, but to get there, he has to be the first man to get a win over Garcia. Last year, Garcia scraped past Lamont Peterson in April, and dominated Paulie Malignaggi in August.
Also on the card tonight is another welterweight clash, between the aforementioned Aron Martinez (20-4-1, 5 KO) and Sammy Vasquez Jr (20-0, 14 KO), plus a heavyweight showdown between Dominic Breazeale (16-0, 14 KO) and Amir Mansour (22-1-1, 16 KO).
Join us tonight!

ROUND BY ROUND
DANNY GARCIA vs ROBERT GUERRERO
Round 1: Guerrero coming out brawling a bit, Garcia biding his time, feeling Guerrero out. Garcia landing some right hands here and there. I like Guerrero by a hair, more active. Garcia arguably landed the cleaner work. Guerrero 10-9
Round 2: Guerrero's aggression still winning the fight for me. Garcia takes a little cheap shot late in the round, frustrated a bit by Guerrero, and Jack Reiss gives him what's for before the round ends. Guerrero 10-9, 20-18
Round 3: Floyd Mayweather apparently arrived in the third round of the main event. Guerrero still kind of dictating the pace. Garcia really not liking the fight he's being put into, and though he's landing clean shots, Guerrero is very tough, and shots here and there just not enough. But Danny did clear better work this round and I shade it his way. Landed some nice shots. Garcia 10-9, Guerrero 29-28
Round 4: Guerrero charges out for round four and goes dead at Garcia to start. Body shot from Garcia. Interesting fight so far. Both guys doing some things well, fighting their fight, but Garcia is struggling to get Guerrero's respect. Robert imposed his will this round. Guerrero 10-9, 39-37
Round 5: Guerrero starting hot again this round, lands a good left. Garcia with a shot to the chest. But he's just not finding any consistent success tonight. He's really struggling with Guerrero's aggression. But Danny comes on strong as this round wears on, landing some significant shots. A competitive round. I think Danny stole it. Garcia 10-9, Guerrero 48-47
Round 6: Garcia finding some rhythm. Left hook and a right hand both land clean. He's finding a groove. He's landing some good shots and picking up confidence. Lead right from Garcia. Guerrero getting tagged in this round. WICKED right hand and then another, and a left hook. BIG statement round from Danny Garcia. Garcia 10-9, 57-57
Round 7: Garcia really showing his ability now, taking Guerrero apart at this point. Gus Johnson is so elated that Floyd Mayweather showed up. He can't even handle it. He might squeal. Garcia in control. Garcia 10-9, 67-66
Round 8: Danny Garcia stays rather in control here. Guerrero doesn't look bad tonight, but he's now being outboxed and getting beaten up a bit. Danny's frustrating Guerrero badly now. Robert's facial expressions have changed significantly over the last three rounds and change. Garcia 10-9, 77-75
Round 9: Garcia continues to smack Guerrero around at this point. He's landing the hooks, landing the right hands, has done work to the body. He's just showing his talent here, and he's beating a determined guy who has run out of answers. Garcia 10-9, 87-84
Round 10: This is still a perfectly watchable fight, but Danny remains in control. Guerrero's aggression is not effective anymore. Garcia 10-9, 97-93
Round 11: More of Garcia ripping Guerrero. The man is taking the shots still but he's getting beaten up. Garcia with another round. I think he's clearly won this fight, not that it's over. Garcia 10-9, 107-102
Round 12: Guerrero charging out, he knows he needs something big. Guerrero showing some aggression. So there's that, anyway. He's not giving up the ghost. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Oh, me. Garcia grazes him with a hook. Guerrero trying to bait him into doing something dumb. Guerrero showing dogged determination as the fight winds down, but Garcia landing the better shots. They end it with a wild brawl. Guerrero 10-9, Garcia 116-112
SAMMY VASQUEZ JR vs ARON MARTINEZ
Round 1: Vasquez controlling the tempo really nicely here in the opening round, not letting Martinez move forward like he likes to do, and frankly needs to do, because he's not good enough or a big enough puncher to win without pressure. And Martinez gets no pressure going in this round. Vasquez 10-9
Round 2: Martinez spends the first minute on the back foot again. Vasquez totally dictating this fight already. Some good shots to the body from Vasquez, and he's landing some shots here, Martinez yells at him but that's about it. As the round wears on, Martinez does start to make some motion forward. But not enough. Vasquez 10-9, 20-18
Round 3: Martinez picking up the pace now in round three for sure. He has a better round here. Not quite enough to win it, but Vasquez got a little sloppier going backwards. They keep pushing this PTSD angle on commentary in such a weird way that it's really putting me off this commentary team. Vasquez 10-9, 30-27
Round 4: I'm being completely distracted by Mark Kriegel's commentary. Vasquez still in control, I think. He's displaying superior skills. Vasquez 10-9, 40-36
Round 5: Really surprised by Aron Martinez tonight. He’s not in this fight. Vasquez has neutralized him completely. Really nice performance from Vasquez. Vasquez 10-9, 50-45
Round 6: Vasquez is trying to make this fight more than Martinez cares to make it. Boo birds are getting going. Vasquez 10-9, 60-54
Round 7: This one gets stopped after six rounds, Martinez not getting off his stool, appears injured.
DOMINIC BREAZEALE vs AMIR MANSOUR
Round 1: Awkward start, the height difference and orthodox/southpaw matchup are making for some odd moments. Mansour is aggressive, though, and digging in some body shots that Breazeale really doesn't like. Breazeale hasn't got his timing yet. Mansour 10-9
Round 2: About halfway into this round, Mansour hurts Breazeale on a left hand, then just unloads with power shots, but Breazeale holds up and Mansour backs off a bit. Breazeale has recovered nicely, but this was another tough round for him. Body shots from Mansour, Gus says they were "all blocked," but eh. Mansour 10-9, 20-18
Round 3: Hard shot and Breazeale is down 40 seconds into the round! He's up but he's in a bad way. Mansour pummeling Breazeale in the corner. Breazeale doing a good job grabbing for a hold, though. This looks like a guy who knows how to box vs a guy who doesn't. I'm not being mean. It is what it is. Breazeale, to be fair, showing toughness and doesn't panic in trouble. HEY! Breazeale with a big ol shot at the end of the round! FUN! Mansour 10-8, 30-26
Round 4: Mansour definitely showing some signs of fatigue. Breazeale still struggling on offense, though. He just can't find a rhythm. But he is landing shots here and there, and you have to be impressed with his toughness. There's a right from Breazeale. Breazeale slips, perhaps showing fatigue himself. Breazeale 10-9, Mansour 39-36
Round 5: I think we're at an interesting point of this fight. And Breazeale falls down again. His legs are just not good. But he's not hurt, it doesn't seem. Breazeale with an uppercut, Mansour shrugs it off and lands a good shot that hurts Breazeale a bit. Mansour hurt on a left uppercut. He's staggered a bit, but avoids the follow ups. Breazeale throwing! Mansour swinging! WOO! PBC HEAVYWEIGHTS! YEAH! Breazeale did more damage this round so I will Kellerman it up and go his way. Breazeale 10-9, Mansour 48-46
Round 6: What the fight is over! Mansour is stopped in the corner. He does not look good, either. Well, we'll see, but it's a TKO-6 or RTD-5 for Breazeale
