Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, would like to see his city increase its profile in boxing with a huge domestic showdown between rivals Kell Brook and Amir Khan. After witnessing the energy behind recent events such as Golovkin-Brook, Froch-Groves II, and Anthony Joshua's title fights - he'd like to keep the momentum going.

"I want to see the biggest sporting and cultural events staged here in London because we not only have world-class venues to stage top-class boxing, but we also have the globe's best fight fans.

"London is open to the best talent in the world and that is why I am keen to see another super-fight in the capital and what better one to start with than arch rivals Amir Khan and Kell Brook both in the ring at Wembley Stadium?"

Sadiq Khan says that Amir Khan and Kell Brook fighting n London would represent neutral territory for the two Brits, with Khan fighting out of Bolton and Brook out of Sheffield. Of course anyone who has followed the never-ending saga between Khan and Brook know that that fight, although a logical money-maker, hasn't been easy to come by.

In the meanwhile, both Khan and Brook are recovering from injuries. Khan recently had surgery to repair a longtime hand injury which required several screws to be installed, and Brook just underwent surgery to repair a broken orbital bone suffered in his fight with Gennady Golovkin. Neither man is expected to return until 2017.
