Danny Garcia will not be fighting Andre Berto in November. He will, instead, be fighting someone significantly worse.

If Vargas’ (25-2-1, 13 KO) name is familiar, it’s because Errol Spence Jr. demolished him in April of last year. He has a 2013 loss to Pablo Munguia, whose primary occupation is being fed to prospects, and he has zero wins of note. Two of his last four opponents aren’t even in BoxRec’s top-400 for their division and the other two fail to crack the top-150.
It’s not quite a full Salka, but it’s pathetic.
The actually-interesting co-feature pits Javier Fortuna (30-1-1, 22 KO) against prospect Omar Douglas (17-0, 12 KO) in the former’s second appearance since a shock upset loss to Jason Sosa. Both men have solid power and Douglas’ aggression could preclude Fortuna’s occasional lapses of activity and make for a fun fight. Jarrett Hurd is set to appear as well against TBA.
