Adrien Broner given citation for allegedly choking waitress

Adrien Broner is back in the news, and once again, it’s not good news.

TMZ is reporting that Adrien Broner has been accused of choking a waitress in a Las Vegas nightclub, and that the 27-year-old fighter was given a citation for misdemeanor battery, and ordered to appear in court at a later date.

Broner has had a rough 2016, to say the very least. Early in the year, he was accused of attacking a man outside of a Cincinnati bowling alley. Those charges were later dropped when the accuser did not show up to court on multiple occasions. Recently, he left a string of disturbing posts on Instagram that indicated he was contemplating suicide.

Broner denies any wrongdoing in this case, but the police saw enough evidence to give the citation, at least, and it’s another situation he’ll have to deal with outside of the ring.

Broner (32-2, 24 KO) last fought on April 1, defeating Ashley Theophane in Washington, DC, and has nothing scheduled as of now, though there has been some talk of him fighting Ricky Burns in December.
