A deal has finally been set for IBF junior middleweight titlist Jermall Charlo to take on mandatory challenger Julian Williams on Dec. 10, multiple sources confirm to RingTV. The fight will be held at USC’s Galen Center in L.A., and will be broadcast live on Showtime. Not only that, the card, promoted by newly returned Richard Schaefer, will also feature Abner Mares taking on Jesus Cuellar for a secondary featherweight title.

Charlo (24-0, 18 KOs) was supposed to have taken on “J-Rock” Williams (22-0-1, 14 KOs) this month, but Charlo was granted a 60-day medical exception as he recovered from LASIK eye surgery. He last fought in May, beating Austin Trout by unanimous decision. Williams last fought in March, stopping Marcelo Matano in seven rounds, marking his third stoppage victory in a row.

Similarly, Abner Mares was supposed to take on Cuellar over the summer, but that fight had been canceled when NYSAC refused to license Mares over a vision issue. Mares (29-2-1, 15 KOs) hasn’t fought in over a year since losing a decision to Leo Santa Cruz in August 2015. Cuellar has been out of action for nearly a year himself, last beating Jonathan Oquendo by unanimous decision last December.

But It appears all the issues between these two fights have now been resolved and are good to go. Praise Jebus.
