Terence Crawford likely to face John Molina Jr., Dec. 10

There’s been word that Crawford would be taking on a PBC fighter, and now there’s word on who that’ll likely be.

According to ESPN’s Dan Rafael, he’s been told that John Molina Jr. (29-6, 23 KOs), is likely to get the call for Terence Crawford’s Dec. 10th fight.

Being a rather short notice fight, no one can be completely surprised that it’s not the most intriguing fight, but heck, I just think this would be a god-awful style match-up for Molina.

Should this go through, Molina will be moving to polar opposite ends of the spectrum — fighting a notoriously one-dimensional fighter in Ruslan Provodnikov this past June, to fighting arguably the most versatile fighter in boxing today. I honestly can’t see this being much of a competitive fight at all, but then again, I suppose it’s not really designed to be.

On a side note, Crawford has just mentioned that he’s eyeing a move up to welterweight — as soon as he can get the other 140lb titlists in the ring with him.

Boy oh boy are there some good fights to be made at welterweight once Crawford finds his way up the scales. But in the meanwhile, what do you think of a fight against Molina?
