Stephen Edwards, the trainer of IBF junior middleweight mandatory challenger Julian "J-Rock" Williams, had his doubts that his fighter would ever get a shot at current titilist Jermall Charlo - but it appears he will after all. Edwards told RingTV yesterday that both sides have come to an agreement and that a formal announcement could come sometime this week.

"The fight is done," Edwards said in a phone interview. "Both sides have agreed. As far as an exact date, I'm really not sure. I guess they're waiting to announce it — sometime in December."

An unidentified source also said that the fight is likely to be held on December 19th on Showtime with the venue still to be determine (with the MGM Grand and the Barclays Center among those in consideration).

"Hopefully they'll be a big announcement this week and everything will go as planned," Edwards said. "I believe the fight is going to happen. All I want is a chance for us to win a title because Julian has been overdue for a title shot."

The purse bid for Charlo-Williams would be ordered for Nov. 1 if the camps don't have signed contracts by Oct. 18th according to the IBF, but with word that this fight has been agreed to, that shouldn't become necessary.
