James DeGale: I’ll expose Golovkin at 168

IBF super middleweight titlist James DeGale says he sees weaknesses in Gennady Golovkin’s game and that he’ll expose him if he moves up.

James DeGale has a big title unification set against Badou Jack on Jan. 14, but with Abel Sanchez recently suggesting that Golovkin could potentially move up to super middleweight to challenge a unified champion at 168, DeGale has taken notice. In and interview with Sky Sports, DeGale suggests that Golovkin would be a perfect upcoming opponent for him.

"It's a hard fight, but a fight that I think I have a fantastic chance of beating [Golovkin]. He's not the biggest middleweight, so if he moves up in weight, I am going to have the size advantage.

"His boxing ability is very good, he's a former Olympian, he's obviously undisputed world champion, but I've seen weaknesses and I think I can expose them 100 percent."

Of course for any of that to even be possible, IBF titlist DeGale (23-1, 14 KOs) will first have to get past WBC titlist Badou Jack (20-1-2, 12 KOs).

But for the sake of discussion, let’s just assume that Golovkin does make the move to 168, where he’s unproven, for a fight with DeGale. How many of you would favor Golovkin to beat Chunky?
