Listen up boxing fans! Yours truly is on the verge of delivering once again for you all! Big time! First I came through with Mayweather-Pacquiao, against all odds, and now I plan on delivering the long-awaited grudge match between Victor Ortiz and Brandon Rios! No, please, don’t hold your applause...

Against my better judgement, I took to Twitter a couple weeks ago to ask Victor Ortiz why not just make a fight with Brandon Rios at the point. I mean, really, what else is out there for either man right now?!

I didn’t get a formal response, but lo and behold, just like that, Victor put out this message via And I will, humbly, take full credit.

Once Brandon Rios caught word of Ortiz’s challenge, he was all for it!

Quite honestly, whatever you think of Ortiz and Rios at this point, there’s no better blood feud in boxing. It has a built-in storyline (no manufactured beef), fans have been wanting it for years, and stylistically it makes for a good action fight. And with Top Rank and Al Haymon now willing to work together — particularly with no real cash cow to risk losing — I don’t see any reason why this fight shouldn’t come together rather easily.

I await my praise in the comments below.
