Callum Smith, British Super Middleweight Champion and mightiest of the fighting Smith Brothers, is set for his fourth fight of 2016. The BBBofC recently confirmed that Smith will take on countryman Luke Blackledge on December 10th as part of the Anthony Joshua-Eric Molina undercard.

"Mundo" is currently the WBC mandatory challenger for the winner of James DeGale vs. Badou Jack on January 14th, while Blackledge is Smith’s British mandatory.

Smith (21-0, 16 KO) has been holding steady since breakout thrashings of Rocky Fielding and Hadillah Mohoumadi in one round apiece, smashing the overmatched Cesar Hernan Reynoso and Norbert Nemesapati on the Bellew-Makabu and Golovkin-Brook undercards, respectively. Blackledge (22-2-2, 7 KO) isn’t much of a step up, but he’s not a bad opponent considering his mandatory status and Smith’s unwilingness to sit and wait for DeGale-Jack.

This fight marks the third British title on the line for the Joshua-Molina card. Scott Quigg and Luis Ortiz still need opponents.
