Just a few more days until the big showdown between light heavyweights Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward. And in anticipation for what he expects to be a tough fight, Sergey Kovalev tells WBN that his last fight against Isaac Chilemba was an appropriate precursor for Ward.
“The fight against Chilemba was like a test for my fight with Andre Ward. We never know what Andre Ward will bring against me on November 19, he is good defense and is fast so I must be ready for anything.”
Kovalev-Ward continues to be as much as a toss-up fight as we’ve seen in years. Even those who’ve made fight predictions are not completely sold on their opinions. And despite at least some believing that Ward is past his best, Kovalev says he’s preparing for the best out of Andre Ward, who has always risen to the occasion.
"We are preparing for best possible Andre Ward in camp, so all I can do is train hard and prepare with my coach and my team. I am going in the ring with strong belief that I will get victory.”
Enjoy this, fans. Fights like this don’t come along very often. How excited are you for Saturday night’s festivities?
