This afternoon at 5:30 pm ET from Las Vegas, Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward take to the scales for tomorrow night’s big HBO pay-per-view main event, with Kovalev’s WBA, WBO, and IBF light heavyweight titles on the line.
Kovalev (30-0-1, 26 KO) is the slight underdog here, despite his status as the best light heavyweight in the world today. That’s because Ward (30-0, 15 KO) was so dominant at 168 that many suspect he’s already the best at 175, too, and that this fight is going to prove so.
However you see it shaking out, we’ve got an incredibly intriguing fight on our hands for once, one that could go either way and will more likely than not actually be worth paying money to tune in to see.
