Dereck Chisora likens himself to the herpes virus

With Dereck Chisora (26-6, 18 KOs) set to take on Dillian Whyte (19-1, 15 KOs) for the UK title on Dec. 10 at the Manchester Arena, Chisora is doing his best to talk up the domestic battle.

Some expect that the winner of the fight could soon be lined up to face WBC heavyweight titlist Deontay Wilder upon his return, and Chisora claims that he should not be written off just because of his six losses.

"I'm like herpes - one minute I'm gone, then one minute I pop back up. So it's like you have to see the doctor and get a pill but then suddenly I pop back up.”

Thankfully I don’t have any experience with that, and I plan on keeping it that way, but Chisora seems fully confident that Whyte won’t be able to Valtrex him come fight night.

"In terms of my opponent, there's nothing much I'm scared of, he doesn't bring much to the table. He's got a good selection of punches but he hasn't got a power punch so I'm looking forward to the fight.”
