Everyone is wrong sometimes, and I admit to being wrong about this fight. I thought Giovanni de Carolis (24(12)-7-1) was robbed in the first Zeuge-de Carolis match, and I thought Tyron Zeuge (19(11)-0-1) was putting us over when he said he failed to perform due to injury. Hence, I predicted a de Carolis stoppage, and I’m actually shocked the opposite happened.
As it turns out, Zeuge showed his true potential in this rematch, and he traded shot after shot with de Carolis. Both fighters were standing in front of each other, and never let up. But it was Zeuge who came out the winner when de Carolis was unable to continue when he was eating punch after punch at the ropes.
Now holding the “regular” WBA super middleweight strap. The holder of the “super” WBA super middleweight belt is Felix Sturm, and I imagine a showdown between Sturm and Zeuge is in the cards. I’d tune in since both fighters love to stand and throw, and I’m not sure who wins at this stage of their careers.
