Kell Brook: I’ll stay at 147 if Amir Khan actually signs to fight me

Kell Brook says he’s still eager to face Amir Khan, he just wants him to sign a deal instead of just talking about it.

IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook says that he’s willing to stay at welterweight if that means he finally gets a shot at his rival Amir Khan. Brook says he just wants Khan to stop yapping about it and actually sign a deal to face him.

"[We’ve] got some big names, Amir Khandashian, he's still there," Brook told Sky Sports News HQ.

"People are talking about us fighting, he's said he wants to have that fight and like I have said, I'll meet him at welterweight if he actually wants to get in and stop talking about it.”

‘Khandashian’ has recently been quoted as saying that any potential fight with Brook would have to take place at welterweight, and Brook now appears to acquiesce to that point, despite his reported struggles to hit the 147lb mark.

Even still, it may be a little difficult for this fight to come off straight-away since Errol Spence remains Brook’s mandatory challenger for the IBF welterweight title. While Spence has been anxiously awaiting his turn at a world title shot, Brook seems to be more interested in either a fight with Khan or unifying titles with Manny Pacquiao.
