Will Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight again next year? Bob Arum thinks the chances are good. There’s already plenty of talk about it after Mayweather showed up to Pacquiao’s win over Jessie Vargas on Saturday. And now, there are already odds listed.
Bovada has installed Mayweather as a -350 favorite to repeat his May 2015 victory over Pacquiao, who is listed at +275.
If the two were to fight next year, Mayweather would be 40 years old, and Pacquiao 38. Potentially adding some intrigue is the fact that Mayweather hasn’t fought since a September 2015 win over Andre Berto, announcing that fight as his retirement bout, something he has stuck to thus far.
But the speculation that he’ll fight again has never gone away. One more win would put him at an even 50-0 for his career, and there is no welterweight in the sport he would not be favored to defeat.
