In 2012 Billy Dib signed a three year contract with 50 Cent, expecting to be a staple of what was expected to be newly formed promotional company headed by the rapper and Floyd Mayweather Jr. But after 50 can Floyd had a public falling out, Dib was left with just 50 Cent who then created SMS Promotions -- a company that has since filed for bankruptcy protection.
Speaking on signing with 50 Cent, Billy Dib reflects on the decision saying he was ripped off and only paid a fraction of what he was owed, something speculated to be over seven figures:
"My career was skyrocketing, things were going amazing, and then unfortunately - and when I say unfortunately I really do mean unfortunately - I signed for 50 Cent, who basically knew nothing about the sport of boxing," Dib said.

"And that’s what was happening to me, I was being promised certain things and I was only being delivered a quarter of what was promised."
Dib credits his business dealings with 50 Cent as being the thing that took away his passion for the sport, which resulted in his career promptly taking a downward trajectory.
