Denis Lebedev to meet Victor Emilio Ramirez in unification bout

Cruiserweight titleholders Denis Lebedev and Victor Emilio Ramirez have signed on to face on another, in a fight tenatively scheduled for April 30th.

WBA titlist Denis Lebedev (28-2, 21 KOs) will face IBF titlist Victor Emilio Ramirez (22-2-1, 17 KOs) in a cruiserweight unification match that's being tentatively scheduled for April 30th, according to Russian promoter Andrey Ryabinsky. The bout is supposed to take place in either Moscow or Sochi, Russia, but Ryabinsky would like to host the fight in the U.S. if he can secure a venue and a television deal. As of yet there is no word on how promising those efforts will be.

Russia's Lebedev, 36, is most recently coming off a eight-round TKO stoppage over Lateef Kayode last November and is looking to keep things on track since being knocked out by Guillermo Jones in May 2013. Since then, Lebedev has also beaten the likes of Pawel Kolodziej and Youri Kayembre Kalenga.

Argentina's Ramirez, 31, is coming off a split-decision draw against Ovill McKenzie last October, after being promoted from interim to full IBF titleholder late last year. He retained his title following the draw.
