After three razor-close showdowns in the last six years, cruiserweight veterans Marco Huck and Ola Afolabi squared off once again last night in Germany. There would be no scorecard controversy this time around, as Huck busted up Afolabi's left eye to force a tenth-round stoppage.
The entire fight is presently available on YouTube from, well, let's just call them third-party sources, so be sure to watch it before the long arm of the law lays the proverbial smackdown.
Huck (39-3-1, 27 KO) becomes the first man to ever stop Afolabi (22-5-4, 11 KO), who had previously scored one of 2015's most underrated knockouts with a faceplant finish of Rakhim Chakhkiev. He also picks up his first win since his stunning knockout loss to Krzysztof Glowacki last August.
In undercard action, unified welterweight champion and pound-for-pound queen Cecilia Braekhus (28-0, 7 KO) returned to action for the first time in over a year to defeat Uruguay's Chris Namus (21-4, 8 KO). "The First Lady" swept the fight on all three scorecards.
