Eddie Hearn hasn't had much luck delivering for IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook lately. And now with Amir Khan off the table, he's looking to make the next biggest thing possible - whatever that is. Yesterday, Hearn says that he's targeting a few names in particular for Brook, with at least one of them being a bit surprising.
"Golovkin, Cotto, Thurman, Garcia," Hearn told Kugan Cassius of IFL TV on Wednesday. "We might have to travel, but I want to make the big fights here because I'm a British promoter and my partner is Sky."
Obviously Hearn tying Golovkin's name to Brook is a little unexpected. And it's not inconceivable that he just threw that in there as an attention grabber - but word is that GGG would have to be convinced to come down five pounds for that to happen and I'm not so sure that's something Golovkin would really consider doing for Kell Brook.
Meanwhile, Miguel Cotto seems content on doing his own thing on his own timetable, so that one just feels like a bit of a long shot.
On the other hand, Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman seem like logical unification fights that make much more sense at face value. But do any of you believe Hearn can get any of them to sign on the dotted line?
