Keith Thurman, currently recovering from a car accident, is said to be expected to resume training within the coming weeks with his highly anticipated fight against Shawn Porter expected to be get a rescheduled fight date this month. According to his media representative Hanna Bolte:
"We are anticipating that Keith Thurman will be cleared to get back into camp in the coming weeks.
"It is a short-term injury and we also anticipate a rescheduled date for his fight with Shawn Porter soon," she added.
Thurman's injuries forced him to postpone his meeting with Shawn Porter, originally scheduled for March 12th at the Mohegan Sun. But with Thurman-Porter a no-go, organizers ended up scrapping the entire card which included Abner Mares vs. Fernando Montiel, Gary Russell Jr vs. Patrick Hyland, and Edwin Rodriguez vs. Thomas Williams.
Shawn Porter's father/trainer Kenny Porter expressed some doubts about Thurman's injuries, but all signs point to this fight finally taking place within the coming months...maybe.
