Kell Brook: Amir Khan's decision to fight Canelo Alvarez makes no sense

Kell Brook admits his disappointment at not being able to land his coveted fight against Amir Khan, saying that Khan's decision to fight Canelo instead was nonsensical.

Kell Brook is currently putting the finishing touches on training camp as he prepares to make his mandatory IBF title defense against Kevin Bizier on March 26 in Sheffield, England. Frustrated that he was unable to secure a fight against Amir Khan, one that he's been waiting years for, Brook says he'll channel those frustrations into a beating for Bizier.

But before he goes on to solely focus on this mandatory defense, Brook wanted it be known how he feels about Khan's upcoming fight against Canelo Alvarez.

"I was upset but it was going on for that long," he told Sky Sports when asked about the failed attempts to make the Khan fight.

"It was close to happening before, but this time, I thought it was going to happen. Then he decided to step up to middleweight and fight Canelo.

"It doesn't make sense. He said he was a welterweight and he wanted to win a world title... I am a world champion, we're both from Britain so we could have got it on."

Khan has said in the past that he believes a fight with Brook will still be there for future, but with the way things have gone between the two rivals one has to wonder if the time will ever be right.
