Steve Claggett will face Chris van Heerden in a welterweight main event on April 16 at The D in Las Vegas, which will be promoted by Roy Jones Jr and air on CBS Sports Network.
"Any time I have the opportunity to showcase my fighters in Las Vegas and put on a show is a win-win for me and Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions," said Jones. "Las Vegas has helped make my career what it is today; it feels like home to me. 'Knockout Night at the D' is going to be a spectacular night for boxing and the fans. Downtown Las Vegas Event Center is an outstanding venue for boxing fans, there isn't a bad seat in the house!"
Claggett (23-3-1, 16 KO) and van Heerden (23-2, 12 KO) will meet in a 10-round fight. The 26-year-old Claggett, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, has won three straight following a loss in January 2015 to prospect Konstantin Ponomarev, while South Africa's van Heerden, 28, is coming off of a loss to top prospect Errol Spence Jr in September. Before that, van Heerden was working on a nine-fight win streak.
Junior middleweight prospect Neeco Macias (11-0, 6 KO) will also be in action, facing Limberth Ponce Jr (10-2, 8 KO) in an eight-round fight.
