David Haye: 'Chump' Briggs will regret ever harassing me

David Haye says he's ready to put an end to the 'Let's Go Champ!' movement by knocking out Shannon Briggs.

Shannon Briggs was really able to piss off David Haye during his recent U.K. tour, traveling around England to call out the best local heavyweights. After Briggs crashed Haye's press conference announcing a fight against an obscure opponent with a funny name, and then antagonized Haye again at the Anthony Joshua-Charles Martin weigh-in, Haye finally had enough. Now Haye says he's aiming to put Briggs' loud mouth to rest.

"I used to find Briggs funny, chasing Klitschko around the world and constantly harassing him. But when it started happening to me, it truly isn't anything to laugh at. The fact he came unannounced to London banging down my gym door, scaring my secretary half to death shows he needs to be taught a serious lesson about respect!"

"The public wants to see the fight, so they convinced me to add him to my undercard. If that chump can beat somebody, then I will fight him after. I'm going to put an end to the ‘let's go champ' movement and change it to ‘let's go chump' - because that's all he is, an old chump who goes round screaming, shouting and bothering people."

In the meanwhile, Briggs has been penciled in to appear on Haye's upcoming undercard against an opponent not yet named. And should he and Haye win their respective bouts, Haye promises to put a hurting on Briggs next.

"I'm not just going to fight him, I'm going to knock him out. He can take a lot of punishment and is a bit of a tough guy, but let's he how long he can stay standing when I start to rain down Hayemaker's on his big head! That Chump is going to regret ever taking that flight to Heathrow to start harassing me!"

For Briggs, things couldn't have worked out much better. It has taken him a couple of years to get his mobile trolling act down to a science, but it has also been a pure pleasure to watch. Unfortunately, the real fact of the matter is that despite all the muscles and big talk coming from Briggs, it's all pretty clearly just a facade - albeit a fun facade! If you don't think so, just watch a couple of Briggs' recent fights. Does anyone really think he can beat David Haye at this point in his career?
