Ruslan Provodnikov will headline against John Molina, and now the June 11 card on Showtime has two more notable fights set to make for a tripleheader from Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York.
Former junior middleweight titleholder Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade (22-0, 15 KO) will face Willie Nelson (25-2-1, 15 KO) in a WBC eliminator. The WBC belt is currently vacant, and will be decided on May 21 when Jermell Charlo faces John Jackson, which will also air on Showtime.
Andrade and Nelson, both 28, make for an interesting style matchup. Nelson, a tall 154-pounder at 6'3", won't have his usual height advantage, as Andrade checks in around 6'1", and is a southpaw, to boot. Nelson has come up short a couple times, but he's also knocked off a couple of unbeaten fighters in recent years, too, in Tony Harrison and the aforementioned John Jackson.
Also on the card, Montenegro's Dejan Zlaticanin (21-0, 14 KO) will face Italy's Emiliano Marsili (32-0-1, 14 KO) for the vacant WBC lightweight title, recently stripped from Jorge Linares due to injury. Marsili, 39, won the European title in 2013 and has defended it four times. Zlaticanin, 31, has wins over Ricky Burns and Ivan Redkach, quietly becoming a top contender at 135 pounds.
