Canelo Alvarez's May 7th middleweight title defense against Amir Khan has all of its officials selected for the main event. This decisions were agreed to at a recent Nevada State Athletic Commission agenda hearing. Kenny Bayless draws the assignment as the third man in the ring for the Canelo-Khan main event and will earn $4,150 for his troubles.
Bayless is an experienced referee who has officiated a number of major fights, including numerous fights for the sport's biggest stars in recent years - Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. He pretty clearly appears to be the referee of choice for high-profile fights in Nevada.
The judges have also been selected for the bout, including Adalaide Byrd, Glenn Trowbridge and Glenn Feldman. Each judge will earn $2,950 to work the bout. This trio of judges have all been around the block more than a few times and none of them have been involved in any major controversies concerning questionable scorecards that come to mind, particularly as of late.
