PBC on Spike - Dirrell vs Caparello: Live streaming results and round by round coverage

Andre and Anthony Dirrell are both back in action tonight on Spike.

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Tonight at 9 pm EDT on Spike, the Dirrell brothers, Andre and Anthony, are back in action at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, as they look to stay sharp and pick up wins in a super middleweight division that is taking center stage this weekend.

Andre (24-2, 16 KO) looks to rebound from his loss last year to James DeGale as he faces Australia's Blake Caparello (22-1-1, 6 KO) in a 10-round bout. Anthony (28-1-1, 22 KO) goes for his second straight win against Minnesota's Caleb Truax (26-2-2, 16 KO) in another 10-round fight.

There will also be an IBF super bantamweight title eliminator between Jonathan Guzman (20-0, 20 KO) and Daniel Rosas (20-2-1, 12 KO), which became even more significant today after Carl Frampton vacated that belt. The winner will likely face Shingo Wake later this year for the belt.

Join us this evening for full round by round coverage, and then immediate results.

ROUND BY ROUND

ANDRE DIRRELL vs BLAKE CAPARELLO

Round 1: Dirrell with a good left early in the round, controlling with the jab as it goes on. Pretty simple round for Andre, feeling out what he can do.

Round 2: Dirrell out righty this round after fighting southpaw for the entire opening frame. Straight right from Dirrell. Dirrell doesn't jab as well right handed, really, and it's showing here. Now he switches southpaw for the last minute, and lands a left immediately. Caparello with a good left of his own, Dirrell right back. Down goes Dirrell on a flash knockdown! Wow! Now he switches back to orthodox. Caparello with a turnaround there. Caparello 10-8, 19-18

Round 3: Dirrell fighting aggressively this round, and doing some really good work in the final minute, Caparello pinned on the ropes and Dirrell unloading. Dirrell 10-9, 28-28

Round 4: Andre just doesn't look like he can move that well anymore. Caparello isn't making him, but it's an obvious issue tonight. He's still doing the better work for the most part here, but you can see why he lost to DeGale, and why he'd probably lose to the other top guys at 168 right now. Caparello able to effectively clinch. Dirrell 10-9, 38-37

Round 5: Dirrell continues to land some decent shots and work hard. Caparello not doing a whole lot very well, honestly. Outside of the knockdown this has been about what was expected. if a little uglier. Dirrell punishing with power shots here and there. Lots of leaning against the ropes. Caparello losing because he's the one with his back to the ropes. Dirrell 48-46

Round 6: Caparello moving more this round. Dirrell is stalking. Landing a few. Kind of a ho-hum round. Dirrell 10-9, 58-55

Round 7: Dirrell with a straight left. Little combination as Caparello is on the ropes again. And Blake will stay there. Left hand and an uppercut from Dirrell. Caparello with a couple shots late. Dirrell 10-9, 68-64

Round 8: Dirrell missing a lot more this round. Quick little combos late in the round from Andre. Dirrell 10-9, 78-73

Round 9: I feel like Caparello isn't putting in maximum effort here. Dirrell has given him a lot of chances to do more but he's just leaning and clinching. Dirrell wins another round. Dirrell 10-9, 88-82

Round 10: Kinda 50-50 on Dirrell tonight. This might just be as good as he can be anymore. And he's won pretty handily for the most part, but it's not the Dirrell of old. Or the past. However you want to put it. Caparello suddenly putting in big effort in the last minute. Dirrell 10-9, 98-91

ANTHONY DIRRELL vs CALEB TRUAX

Round 1: Dirrell hurts Truax halfway into the round on a hard right, and Dirrell follows up and puts Truax down! Truax down again on another right, and the fight is over! Dirrell TKO-1

JONATHAN GUZMAN vs DANIEL ROSAS

Round 1: Rosas out throwing a jab and a left hook early, Guzman feeling it out for 30 seconds. Little combo from Guzman, finishing with a right to the body. Guzman swings a hook, misses, but clips him with a right after, then another right hand. Guzman to the body, then back up with a left uppercut that doesn't get there. Rosas coming forward and lands a hook. So far he's not backing down at all. Rosas with another shot, but Guzman coming on strong to close the round. Decent opener. Guzman 10-9

Round 2: Rosas continuing to march forward. Guzman taking his time, working his way around the ring, maybe trying to bait Rosas in. And there's a good right with about a minute left in the round. Good uppercut inside from Guzman. Left and a right and then another right. Rosas taps his chin and dares Guzman to throw again. Rosas with a body shot, then another, and another. Nice work there, he's got Guzman cornered. Guzman finds his way out. Left hook from Guzman stuns Rosas late. Guzman 10-9, 20-18

Round 3: Rosas reaching with hooks early in this round. Probably not a great idea. Right hand from Guzman, and then an overhand right shortly after. Uppercut shakes Rosas just a bit. Another one lands hard. Right hand, left, Rosas hurt a little, and Guzman is firing with both hands. Sloppy attempt to finish, Rosas hangs on and ties up and we're back to center ring. Left hand from Guzman shakes Rosas again. Right hand follows. Guzman 10-9, 30-27

Round 4: Rosas keeps pressuring but Guzman keeps doing the clear better work and having the greater impact with his shots. Rosas trying to dig to the body, and doing a solid job of it. Good shot upstairs with the hook from Rosas, then a right clips Guzman. Guzman just didn't have the power shots this round to make up for Rosas' activity and pressure. Rosas 10-9, Guzman 39-37

Round 5: Rosas coming out throwing again. Right hand lands. Guzman still trying to sharp shoot but not landing at the moment, and had trouble last round. Guzman staying in the center of the ring a bit more now, with Rosas staying still a bit. Right to the body from Rosas. Rosas with another right to the body after they trade left hooks. Rosas back to marching forward. Guzman flurrying late in the round and catches Rosas leaning with a left hook, Rosas stumbles into the ropes! Rosas back with a hook! Right hand from Guzman! Rosas pushes Guzman down a little bit to buy some time. HARD LEFT HOOK AND ROSAS IS DOWN AT THE BELL! Guzman 10-8, 49-45

Round 6: Let's see if Rosas has recovered sufficiently. Right hand from Guzman! Rosas hurt and in the corner. Guzman patiently looking for an opening, lots of time left in this round. Another good hook inside by Guzman with about 30 seconds left. Guzman with a clean right and another! Guzman with another right. Rosas staying up and he'll get out of this round it appears. Rosas' nose bloodied now. Guzman 10-9, 59-54

Round 7: Rosas pressuring again but getting tagged again, too. Rosas' corner might consider pulling the plug on this fight sooner than later, their guy is getting beaten up at this point. His legs aren't great and he doesn't seem to have the power to keep Guzman off. Left eye is swelling shut, too. Left hand stings Rosas again. He's swinging and missing, but he's still swinging. Hook from Rosas does land. Not a lot on his shots right now. Left hook late from Guzman. Guzman 10-9, 69-63

Round 8: Kinda keeping the same pace right now, with Guzman moving and sharpshooting, Rosas trying to pressure. Right hand late knocks Rosas down kind of awkwardly, but again at the bell. It counts, but we go on. Guzman 10-8, 79-71 Fight is stopped after the round. Guzman RTD-8
