Paulie Malignaggi wants Adrien Broner rematch

Is anyone interested in a sequel?

Paulie Malignaggi v Adrien Broner

Paulie Malignaggi wants another shot at Adrien Broner. After Broner stopped Ashley Theophane in the ninth round and called out Floyd Mayweather over the weekend, Malignaggi expressed his interest in facing Broner again. The two first met in June 2013 when Broner left with Malignaggi's welterweight title belt...and his girl.

When asked if he was interested in fighting Broner again in a rematch, Malignaggi replied:

"Sure do, before taking on the king of the welters he should at least prove he can get past me in a definitive way, I deserve my rematch," the Showtime analyst, winner of two straight since losing to Danny Garcia in Sept. 2015, told me.

Then, when assessing Broner's performance against Theophane, Malignaggi stated:

"He looked fine to me, he did what he had to do, Theophane was game but it was a different level. Enough now… I’ve waited long enough for a rematch!"

There wasn't a whole lot of fan interest in their first meeting, outside of their promotional build-up, and I'd bet there's less interest now that Malignaggi, 35, appears to be well past his prime. Sure, he's won two straight since getting brutalized by Danny Garcia last summer, but those two wins come against sub par opposition on the European circuit.

But you tell me, fans, are any of you interested in seeing Broner-Malignaggi again? Might there be another side piece to quarrel over?
