Charles Martin will be traveling to London this weekend to put his heavyweight strap on the line against Anthony Joshua. And looking ahead to his first shot at a world title, Joshua says he's anticipating a Mike Tyson-esque performance.
"They put me as the favorite but I'm the underdog," Joshua said. "I'm the challenger that can come in and annihilate the champion, kind of like when Tyson fought Berbick. Just don't give Charles Martin a chance and outclass him and that's what I want to show."
Joshua, a 2012 Olympic gold medalist, goes on to predict a sixth round KO of Martin while not even considering him to be his toughest opponent to date. Joshua pegs Martin as laid-back counter puncher who doesn't fight a full round, thus expects a nice controlled pace for as long as it lasts.
Martin, on the other hand, says he's ready to pick off Joshua while he's still wet behind the ears, stating that Joshua isn't yet ready to challenge for a world title.
"I'm going to take him out. He's not ready. He's going to get tired like always does. That's when I'm going to jump on him. I know I'm going to knock him out."
Martin additionally suggests that he has more tools in his belt than Joshua, who he believes cannot box well and solely relies on his power.
This fight seems like it could be a bit of a toss-up, so who are you going with on Saturday?
