Mayweather Promotions files for '50' trademarks

Outside of his recent comments suggesting a possible comeback, Floyd Mayweather's trademark applications for 'TBE 50' and 'TMT 50' pretty clearly indicate what he has in mind.

I was perhaps the only person who thought Floyd Mayweather would actually follow through on this supposed retirement. Well - color me naive. If Floyd's recent interview wasn't enough to suggest that he was inclined to make a return to boxing, surely his latest filings with the U.S. Patent & Trademark office speak for themselves.

Mayweather Promotions applied for the trademarks of 'TMT 50' and 'TBE 50' on April 21st, confirmed by records of the patent office. 'TMT' is the acronym for 'The Money Team' while 'TBE'  stands for 'The Best Ever,' something Mayweather has religiously touted as a brand in recent years. The '50' obviously references what would be his 50th professional fight -- and no, not an allusion to his popular frenemy.

All in all, this is about as clear as an indication you can get (outside of an official announcement) that Floyd will indeed return as a prizefighter. So safely assuming that we'll see Floyd back in the ring in the near future, who would you like to see him face to break Rocky Marciano's record? Cast your vote below.
