Though it's not yet a 100 percent done deal, terms have been reached for Kell Brook and Jessie Vargas to meet in a welterweight title unification bout in late August or early September, according to ESPN.com, quoting Matchroom's Eddie Hearn as saying that the fight will take place at Sheffield's Bramall Lane on August 20, August 27, or September 3.
Brook (36-0, 25 KO) has been looking for a big fight, and Vargas (27-1, 10 KO) is as big as he's going to get for his next bout. Add in the fact that it's a unification -- Brook is IBF titleholder, Vargas has the WBA belt -- and it's a bit more significant than just a good matchup, too.
Top Rank's Bob Arum told ESPN.com that he expects the fight to get finalized early next week. The fight will likely air on HBO in the United States, plus Sky Box Office in the United Kingdom.
Now that it looks like we're getting this one, who do you like to win?
