Canelo vs Khan: Purse details for full HBO PPV card

Canelo Alvarez will make a purse of $3.5 million on Saturday night for his HBO pay-per-view main event against Amir Khan, who has a purse of $2 million. If those both seem a little low for a Big Mega Ultra Super Event Fight, it's because they are -- but keep in mind that both fighters are going to also earn money from the pay-per-view and from TV rights, so their take home pay will be notably higher than that.

Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KO) will be defending the WBC and Ring Magazine middleweight titles against Khan (31-3, 19 KO) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the first fight card to be held inside that new venue.

Undercard purses are about what we normally see for fights like these. Middleweights David Lemieux and Glen Tapia will be showcased in the main undercard bout of the evening, with Lemieux's purse $200,000 and Tapia's at $150,000. Welterweights Mauricio Herrera and Frankie Gomez will make $175,000 and $90,000, respectively for their bout, which will go second on the pay-per-view broadcast. And openers Patrick Teixeira and Curtis Stevens, middleweights, will earn $50,000 and $65,000, respectively. All three of those fights are set for 10 rounds.
