PBC on CBS - Thurman vs Porter: Live streaming results and round by round coverage

PBC returns to CBS tonight with Keith Thurman against Shawn Porter in the big main event.

Tonight at 9 p.m. ET on CBS, Premier Boxing Champions is live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn with what may be the best main event that the series has run thus far, as top welterweights Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter meet for Thurman’s WBA welterweight title.

Thurman (26-0, 22 KO) and Porter (26-1-1, 16 KO) are both near the top of a division that has rapidly changed with the "retirements" of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, leaving a vacancy at the top of the division. This fight will go a long way in determining who may be the new top dog at 147.

In the co-feature, junior middleweight prospects Jarrett Hurd (17-0, 11 KO) and Oscar Molina (13-0-1, 10 KO) will do battle in a 10-round bout, which replaces the unfortunately canceled Jesus Cuellar-Abner Mares fight that was set for this slot. This one is a solid matchup, too, though, and worth seeing.

For more on these fights, check out our preview from earlier this week.

ROUND BY ROUND

KEITH THURMAN vs SHAWN PORTER

Round 1: Sounds like a pro-Thurman crowd in Brooklyn. Thurman right out with a hook that touches Porter. Porter starting to really charge about a minute into the fight, and Thurman clips him with a counter uppercut. Porter trying to bull rush him repeatedly, Thurman boxing smart and making him miss for the most part, tapping hip with counters here and there. Good overhand right from Thurman. Porter perhaps expending a lot of energy without results. Thurman 10-9

Round 2: Aggressive boxing here from both. Thurman's hook has been his main weapon, landing that punch really nicely. Porter with a much better round here, though, his aggressive is working more for him and he's been able to trap Thurman a little better, including a period against the ropes to end the round. Porter 10-9, 19-19

Round 3: HEY, EVERYONE IN BOXING! MORE FIGHTS LIKE THIS ONE. THIS IS GOOD. Porter's attempts to smother and his pure physicality are giving Thurman some real problems right now, but Thurman is still doing some decent work at range, too. He wants to get his jab going, but he's having a hard time doing that. Porter's taking it away. Porter strays a bit low with a body shot, crowd booing the stop in action. Porter continues to dig away, but Thurman NAILS HIM WITH A COUPLE OF CLEAN POWER SHOTS OFF THE ROPES AT THE END OF THE ROUND! Porter stays up and the round ends! Porter 10-9, 29-28

Round 4: Porter landing some stiff jabs here. Thurman trying to find something at range, but Porter giving him a different look this round, jabbing at distance with him. Thurman slips a couple shots and then pops him with a counter left. Another counter hook lands for Thurman. FIREFIGHT AT CENTER RING AND THURMAN DRILLS HIM WITH A HOOK! PORTER HANGS ON! Thurman going after him but Porter holds again! 1-2 from Thurman! Porter also cut at the corner of his left eye. Porter swings a wild right, Thurman does, too, both miss. Thurman 10-9, 38-38

Round 5: Porter trying to get back to what was working earlier. Rafe Bartholomew just tweeted that he thinks the shot at the end of round 3 changed the fight, and I think he may be right. Some body work from Porter, but Thurman hanging in. And with 1:20 left, we've got another firefight! Porter landing a couple good shots, Thurman fighting back off the ropes. Porter getting a little dirty, because, well, he needs to, and if the referee isn't going to stop it, then why stop? More crazy arms a flailin'! Thurman with a good shot there, but Porter ties him up again. This is a good fight. Porter 10-9, 48-47

Round 6: Porter and Thurman both putting a lot into this fight, and that's what we were all hoping to see. It's not a WOW! CLASSIC! Fight of the Year type of thing, but it's good energy, good pace, good fighting. Nothing is dragging. Liked Porter's attack again this round, but these rounds are competitive. It's a good, competitive fight. Porter 10-9, 58-56

Round 7: Porter continuing to try to maul Thurman, but Thurman hacking and slashing his way through some of it. Porter slips with about a minute left in the round, referee calls it right. BIG right hand from Porter! Extremely close round. Thurman got his jab working a bit, Porter went to the body. Thurman 10-9, Porter 67-66

Round 8: Porter's body work bothering Thurman a good bit. He's trying not to show it, but he doesn't like it. Thurman's jab disappearing again. Porter is just a bulldozer in this fight. HARD left hook from Thurman, though. But Porter ties him up, then gets back to work. Porter 10-9, 77-75

Round 9: Thurman fighting well for the first half of this round, then Porter just attacks him and muscles him against the ropes, just driving him back and throwing both hands. Thurman played good defense there given the situation. Thurman also cut, perhaps a clash of heads. They've certainly been banging around. Porter continues to just MAUL Thurman, and THURMAN FIRES BACK! This is a FIGHT. Counter hooks for Thurman still there, but Porter taking them well. This is a FIGHT. Porter 10-9, 87-84

Round 10: Porter still trying to bully, but Thurman cracks him with a couple good counters halfway into the round, and he's got the control at the moment, it seems. But this fight has twisted and turned a lot. Porter still banging away, but Thurman drills him with a big shot off balance, and Porter TURNS IT AROUND AND THEY'RE THROWING IN THE CORNER! WOW! Thurman 10-9, Porter 96-94

Round 11: Thurman still landing hard counters. These guys both showing a great will to win. Thurman with hooks and uppercuts, Porter just keeps barreling forward. Thurman with a nice round here. This fight is close. Thurman 10-9, Porter 105-104

Round 12: Another good uppercut from Thurman. Porter again trying to mug him to close the fight. This is just a hell of a battle all around. The referee has done a great job letting them fight through all of this, too. We've got a close round in a close fight. I edge to Thurman here, and I have it even. Thurman 10-9, 114-114

JARRETT HURD vs OSCAR MOLINA

Round 1: Good feeling out stuff here for about two minutes and then GOOD LORD HURD WITH A HUGE UPPERCUT! Molina is down! He's right back up because he's got no idea what happened. Molina looking OK, or as OK as you could expect, and he will get out of the round. Hurd 10-8

Round 2: Molina staying with the jab, but not much else. Hurd looking to time him again, as he did with that uppercut. Molina has responded well to what was a really vicious knockdown. Hurd has a great combo of a jab and his right uppercut, impressing Paulie: "It's sharp!" Left hook to the body from Molina. I like the work Molina did in this round. Molina 10-9, Hurd 19-18

Round 3: Hurd jabbing again, keeping distance. Hurd gets Molina to bite on a feint, then throws to the body with Molina against the ropes. Hurd takes some weird angles, and I mean that as a compliment. He's not afraid to fight outside the box, but he doesn't make a ridiculous habit of it like, say, a Roy Jones Jr impersonator. Hurd 10-9, 29-27

Round 4: Hurd with some body work this round, but Molina again closer to even here. Even rounds have been a bit better for him. He's landing some nice body shots of his own. Good, hard shots, and then a couple of chopping rights up top. Molina 10-9, Hurd 38-37

Round 5: This is a really interesting matchup so far, learning a lot about both guys. Molina is doing some decent work inside, but so is Hurd. Hurd with a nice right hand up top, and he's doing the work again this round. This has become a phone booth fight now. Hurd, like, literally chopping with both hands. Molina still in this, but Hurd with a strong round. Hurd 10-9, 48-46

Round 6: This has really turned out to be an enjoyable fight to watch. Good action, both showing some nice skills. Hurd is a bit more dynamic, Molina a good meat and potatoes fighter. Hurd's dynamism is winning the fight. Hurd 10-9, 58-55

Round 7: Molina's overhand right has been a good weapon, but it hasn't shaken Hurd up much at all, either. Hurd really smacking with his right hand inside. Tough fight for Oscar Molina. He's not really doing anything wrong, he's just being beaten. Hurd 10-9, 68-64

Round 8: Really like the way Hurd keeps his hands moving. Again, Molina's not doing poorly at all, Hurd's just a better fighter tonight, has more to his game. Molina does things well. He's done some good work. He's still going to be a prospect. But Hurd is looking really good, and he rattles Molina a bit at the end of the round. Hurd 10-9, 78-73

Round 9: Molina did get really shaken up at the end of that round, he's getting beaten up some now. His facial expressions and body language are telling the tale. Not that he's not trying still. He certainly is. But Hurd is looking like the goods. Hurd 10-9, 88-82

Round 10: Hurd continuing to do good work, banging away, Molina still hanging in, and then the referee pulls the plug on the fight. That's going to be debated, and is immediately. He should've been allowed to go for the finish there, I think. But the win is clean. Hurd TKO-10
