Chris Eubank Jr did the job that was expected today in London, and now he may be taking the biggest job of all next. Eubank manhandled the overmatched Tom Doran to successfully defend the British middleweight title, scoring multiple knockdowns en route to a fourth round stoppage.

Eubank (23-1, 18 KO) put Doran down in the third round with a furious assault, hammering away to the body and head before finally dropping his challenger. Doran (17-1, 7 KO) went down twice in the fourth, too, before referee Marcus McDonnell stopped the fight, and mercifully so. Eubank was more or less toying with Doran at that point.

"Gennady Golovkin, man, I’m coming for you. Everyone is scared of you for some reason," Eubank said after the fight. "They think you’re indestructible. You’re not. I’m coming for you. And if I can’t get you for some reason, then Saunders."

Promoter Eddie Hearn said that the Golovkin-Eubank fight "could well get made this week." The word has been that it will take place in September, and that Golovkin will travel to London for the fight.
