If you weren't able to catch Saturday night's Showtime Boxing on CBS main event between Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter, well, first of all, what's wrong with you? You're a boxing fan and skipped this fight? And probably watched Broner-Theophane live? Were you ill? Were you at a wedding? Were you on some type of business trip? Listen, you screwed up. It happens.
But thankfully, we've got the highlights for you. Thurman beat Porter in a highly competitive 12-round fight, winning on unanimous scores of 115-113 across the board from the three ringside judges, in a bout that lived up to and maybe even exceeded the hype and expectations.
Thurman (27-0, 22 KO) scored with the cleaner work, countering well and landing a lot of sharp hooks, in particular, not his usual number one weapon. Porter (26-2-1, 16 KO) had success mauling Thurman and going to the body. It was a fight that went about to script, but was an excellently executed script.
In the co-feature, Jarrett Hurd (18-0, 12 KO) looked good in a win over fellow 154-pound prospect Oscar Molina (13-1-1, 10 KO), in another competitive and entertaining bout. Here are the highlights from that fight, too:
