PBC on Spike - Stevenson vs Williams: Live streaming results and round by round coverage

Adonis Stevenson faces Thomas Williams in the light heavyweight main event tonight on Spike.

Dave Nadkarni/Premier Boxing Champions

Tonight at 9 pm ET on Spike, Premier Boxing Champions returns with a card from Quebec City, where Adonis "Superman" Stevenson will defend his WBC light heavyweight title against Thomas Williams Jr in the 12-round main event.

Stevenson (27-1, 22 KO) won the WBC belt from Chad Dawson just over three years ago, and has defended it successfully on six occasions, most recently last September. But he’s also been criticized heavily for facing substandard opponents, and for avoiding a fight with Sergey Kovalev.

Williams (20-1, 14 KO) has won three straight since a loss to Gabriel Campillo in August 2014, and most recently has scored a pair of thrilling second round stoppage wins over Umberto Savigne and Edwin Rodriguez.

In the co-feature, WBC mandatory challenger Eleider Alvarez (19-0, 10 KO) looks to stay sharp ahead of a likely shot at the Stevenson-Williams winner later this year. He’ll take on New Zealand’s Robert Berridge (27-4-1, 21 KO), a late replacement for Chad Dawson, who was a replacement for Maximiliano Gomez.

ROUND BY ROUND

ADONIS STEVENSON vs THOMAS WILLIAMS JR

Round 1: Stevenson lands the long left. Williams is very cautious, or at least for him, he's cautious. He's very respectful of Adonis' left hand, let's put it that way. Williams lands a good left. Left hand and Williams is down. Stevenson going for the finish with about 20 seconds left. Williams throws wild and nearly gets caught with a counter. Stevenson 10-8

Round 2: Stevenson's left hand is doing damage, and Williams is looking tepid now. Williams keeps tapping his chin and telling Stevenson to bring it, which is getting Stevenson to throw and here comes Williams a bit! Both throwing and landing some. Williams shakes Stevenson late in the round! WOO! Williams 10-9, Stevenson 19-18

Round 3: Stevenson looking his age right now, and Williams is finding some success. Stevenson uncorks a telegraphed left hand, easily blocked. Williams just off timing counter shots, that may not keep missing. Williams missing, but he's trying to stay inside, and Stevenson doesn't want the fight there. Stevenson has Williams hurt with 30 seconds left, and Williams is on his bike a bit! Shade to Stevenson for the damage. Stevenson 10-9, 29-27

Round 4: Williams has a knot on his head, ruled from a punch. Left hand from Stevenson strays pretty low, Williams takes a minute to recover. But Stevenson is coming right at him after. HUGE bombs from both guys. They are getting chippy now. This is a savage fourth round. These guys are just banging away, pure machismo in tight quarters. Stevenson banging to the body some. And he hurts Williams again with a left hand, and back to the body with two hard lefts. BIG SHOT AND WILLIAMS IS DOWN AND MAY BE OUT! It's over! Stevenson KO-4

ELEIDER ALVAREZ vs ROBERT BERRIDGE

Round 1: Alvarez working behind his jab a bit here, taking the round but just feeling it out, mostly, which is not a surprise. Alvarez 10-9

Round 2: Dull. Alvarez 10-9, 20-18

Round 3: Dull. Alvarez 10-9, 30-27

Round 4: Dull. Alvarez 10-9, 40-36

Round 5: Slightly less dull? Like, sorry, I just have no patience for this fight right now. Alvarez 10-9, 50-45

Round 6: Berridge swelling up a good bit under his right eye. He's trying what he can, but it's short notice, and Alvarez is good. But I liked Berridge this round. He took advantage of some openings, and Alvarez is starting to open up more than before. Berridge 10-9, Alvarez 59-55

Round 7: Alvarez back in control more this round, but Berridge is giving it a go, and that's all you can really ask. Alvarez just isn't an exciting fighter. Alvarez 10-9, 69-64

Round 8: Ehhh. Alvarez 10-9, 79-73

Round 9: Alvarez still in control. He should be. And he is. Berridge going for something big, but not finding it. Alvarez 10-9, 89-82

Round 10: I'll give this round to Berridge. Alvarez wins the fight, but not sure he did much to strike fear in Adonis Stevenson. Berridge 10-9, Alvarez 98-92
