Tyson Fury misses press conference for Wladimir Klitschko rematch

I don’t think this is the Big Drama Show people enjoy.

Tyson Fury has missed a press conference ahead of his October 29th rematch with Wladimir Klitschko, claiming that he was stuck in traffic. And his car broke down. And his phone battery was dead.

Klitschko, thankfully, took it in stride, reminding reporters that it wasn’t the first time an opponent has bailed on a press obligation. In lieu of a cardboard cutout, he posed with half of the fight poster.

Fury’s management assured those in attendance that the fight, set to take place in Manchester with Hughie Fury vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. in the co-feature, is still on track. The Furys’ issues with UK Anti-Doping will reportedly not be dealt with until after the bout.

Oh, and Frank Warren says he’s going to try and put together Gennady Golovkin vs. Billy Joe Saunders, which would be a much better distraction if it were in any way feasible.

We’ve still got about six weeks of circus left and we’ll keep you posted on shenanigans as they develop.
