This afternoon at 3:30 pm ET, streaming live right here at Bad Left Hook, Canelo Alvarez and Liam Smith will weigh in for tomorrow night's HBO pay-per-view main event in Arlington, Texas, where they'll fight for Smith's WBO junior middleweight title at AT&T Stadium.
Smith (23-0-1, 13 KO) is the big underdog, but Alvarez (47-1-1, 33 KO) hasn't actually made 154 pounds since his 2013 fight with Floyd Mayweather. Since then, he's fought with 155-pound catchweights, and there is at least some belief -- or perhaps hope, if you're pro-Smith -- that Canelo may struggle to make the weight again, even if it is just one extra pound.
Also weighing in will be middleweights Gabriel Rosado and Willie Monroe Jr, featherweights Joseph Diaz Jr and Andrew Cancio, and super bantamweights Diego De La Hoya and Luis Orlando Del Valle. Those three fights will be featured on the pay-per-view undercard, with the show starting at 9 pm ET on Saturday. The event will also air on BoxNation in the United Kingdom.
