Głowacki vs Usyk: Live streaming results and round by round coverage

Krzysztof Głowacki defends his belt today against Oleksandr Usyk.

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

This afternoon from Gdsansk, Poland, Krzysztof Głowacki will defend the WBO cruiserweight title against top prospect and former Olympic gold medalist Oleksandr Usyk.

Live coverage for the show will begin at 2:35 pm ET, streaming live on Klowd TV for those in the United States. You’ll have to sign up for a free trial, but once you do, you can watch this fight free and legal today.

The fight will also air on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom, beginning at 9:30 pm local time, or 4:30 pm ET, so that’s likely about when you should expect our live coverage for the main event to begin.

Głowacki (26-0, 16 KO) will be looking to make a second successful defense of the title he won from Marco Huck in August 2015. He defended against Steve Cunningham in June of this year, but Usyk (9-0, 9 KO) is a younger, stronger man than Cunningham, and considered by far the best prospect in the division.

At 29, Usyk is no novice, and his 2012 Olympic gold medal was well-earned. He’s a dangerous fighter, but also untested, so this will be an interesting matchup.

Round 1: Going to be interesting, to say the least, to see how this one goes. If Usyk gets off to a fast start, will he maintain it? If Głowacki starts strong, will Usyk adjust? Usyk looking confident early on here, not overly aggressive but making himself the aggressor. He looks physically bigger than Głowacki, too. Hand speed appears an issue for Głowacki, but he's trying to work the body, too. Usyk 10-9

Round 2: Głowacki trying to get a bit more aggressive, give Usyk something to think about. A better round for Głowacki in some ways, but Usyk's jab is working nicely and I still liked him here. Usyk 10-9, 20-18

Round 3: Usyk's jab continues to dictate the fight. Głowacki is cut near his right eye thanks to that jab. Usyk just has a supreme confidence right now. Głowacki can bang so it's never over until it's over, but he looks great so far. Usyk 10-9, 30-27

Round 4: I do think Głowacki takes this round, he's hanging in, refusing to hand this fight over to Usyk without some trouble. And that's good to see. He's at home, he's the defending titleholder, for what it's worth, and he's a tough guy who can punch. He's trying to make it tough. Głowacki 10-9, Usyk 39-37

Round 5: Alright, we're getting a fight now. Głowacki takes a second straight round on my card, and he's in this fight. Really starting to find the holes in Usyk's defense. Głowacki 10-9, Usyk 48-47

Round 6: Usyk senses Głowacki coming on a bit and is starting to get back to a bit more aggression. Głowacki, though, is willing to load up and fire power shots, and this has become quite a good fight, as anticipated. Usyk got himself back in rhythm this round. Usyk 10-9, 58-56

Round 7: Usyk staying in control again, may have made the adjustments to re-neutralize Głowacki here, and the cut is still in play, no doubt. Usyk landed some good shots this round, and battered the body a bit, too. Usyk 10-9, 68-65

Round 8: Usyk's just too skilled for Głowacki overall. Doesn't mean this fight is over, but he's in firm control through eight rounds. Usyk 10-9, 78-74

Round 9: Usyk remains in control here. Głowacki needs a knockout, but he's seemingly known that the entire fight. Usyk 10-9, 88-83

Round 10: Usyk seems a bit content with the advantage he's got, not really pressing for a stoppage, and that leaves him open a bit. Głowacki, bless him, is just plowing forward and running into jabs trying to do something. Usyk 10-9, 98-92

Round 11: Głowacki, bless him again, is still giving his absolute best, but Usyk is taking him apart. Good body shots, good movement, good counters. Just a better fighter. Usyk 10-9, 108-101

Round 12: Usyk down early in the 12th, but ruled a slip, hard to tell with camera angle in real time. Głowacki attacking when the fight resumes. Good right back from Usyk. He's fighting, but moving. Winds up a bolo punch but doesn't get it off. Ali Shuffle. Głowacki is leaving everything he's got in the ring. Usyk nailing him with shots late in the round. Fun final round. Usyk 10-9, 118-110
