Crolla vs Linares, Huck vs McKenzie, more: Boxing fight times and TV schedule for September 23-24

It’s not a big weekend, but there’s one really good fight in the lightweight division coming our way.

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Friday, September 23

UniMás, 11:00 pm ET, Christopher Diaz vs Raul Hirales, Toka Kahn Clary vs Jhon Gemino. Solo Boxeo Tecate moves to Fridays with this show, which is more or less your standard Solo Boxeo Tecate event.

Saturday, September 24

Sky Sports (UK), 2:30 pm ET, Anthony Crolla vs Jorge Linares, John Ryder vs Jack Arnfield, Hosea Burton vs Fernando Castaneda, Callum Johnson vs Wilbeforce Shihepo, Conor Benn vs Ross Jameson. A really good looking main event here, a 50-50 fight based on styles and past results, one where Linares may well have a skill advantage, but Crolla may just be too tough. Love this matchup, and really enjoying the lightweight division right now, and the winner will have the right to claim being the true best 135-pounder in the world. The rest of the card is what it is. BLH will have live coverage.

BoxNation (UK), 4:00 pm ET, Marco Huck vs Ovill McKenzie. Two tough veteran fighters, one long running as a top cruiserweight, the other a top spoiler. If the two main events don’t run against each other, we’ll have live coverage for this and Crolla-Linares, but chances are they will.

Televisa (MEX), 11:00 pm ET, Jhonny Gonzalez vs Hirotsugu Yamamoto, Diego Cruz vs Ivan Cano, Lourdes Juarez vs Yesenia Gomez.
