The WBA and RING lightweight title fight tomorrow between Anthony Crolla and Jorge Linares is good to go. Both fighters hit the scales today and made weight comfortably in Manchester, as reported by RingTV.
Linares looked to be in great shape and tipped the scales at 134.1lbs in front of a hostile crowd. Meanwhile Crolla, the hometown favorite, hit the 134.5lb mark as the crowd cheered him on.
"This is the biggest fight out there and this is the type of challenge you dream about," said Crolla, when interviewed by Sky Sports.
"Getting those two beautiful belts, the WBA and WBC diamond, is one thing but joining that elite club of having a RING magazine belt and being recognized universally as the best lightweight on the planet - it doesn't get any better than that."
Crolla (31-4-3 (13 KOs) is heading into this title fight on the heels of two consecutive KO wins over Darleys Perez and Ismael Barroso, and is 3-0-2 in his last five outings. Linares 40-3 (27 KOs), on the other hand, is currently on a 9-fight winning streak, with seven of those fights coming by way of stoppage.
It should be a good one!
